It isn't a bug, this is just how it was implemented in HTML5 Audio. I am not aware of any plans for that to change.

Unfortunately, this change reverses what fixed #1439 and causes that issue to start happening again.
Are you still seeing this issue? I've tested on the latest Firefox on 2 different Android devices and the live radio demo worked on both.
