Requires daid/SeriousProton#200 for proper support (will compile without, but won't correctly load the info if it comes from scripts).

This is incomplete btw - there are references to `HOME` in `src/menus/optionsMenu.cpp` as well as `src/scriptDataStorage.cpp` that needs to be fixed up too (and tested).

I believe this is fixed by a combination of daid/SeriousProton#77 and #1376 .

This shares some commonality with #1159 but sandbox itself to github actions, and does not do artifact publishing - it's only a CI build check.

Exactly. I would shove the check behind a preference settings and default it to true. Package managers are then free to change it to what matches best their respective platform...

I think I prefer @daid 's, something like that maybe?  (don't get too excited, that's just a mock up done in paint.net)

The checks are obviously going to fail (I was hoping putting the draft up wouldn't trigger them).

I'm going to table this for the foreseeable future - Very selfishly, it's a little too far off my intended target :)

Note: we should make more stuff use the `substr_view()` (like endswith!) but that's going to be a separate PR
