error message with hinge - no alignments

I have come almost to the end with the ecoli demo in hinge but not quite. I do not understand what could be the Problem and would appreciate some help....

cannot open ./reads.fasta for 'r'

when trying to download the ecoli reads for the Hinge demo, I get the following message: cannot open ./reads.fasta for 'r'. How can I solve this? Thanks, Gabi
