Are you perhaps testing the MC's on a (somewhat/partially) conductive surface? Wristwatch shorting something out while you're making measurements? Working in front of a wall of unshielded speakers? PCB's sitting...
Aren't most anti-static surfaces made to be highly conductive?
HexUploader no go on MacOS Catalina, Using Ardiuno IDE works... But MCL4.00 is displayed at startup.
What fixed it for me was installing a legacy version of arduino (1.8.19) on my catalina machine, in case anyone else is not able to make the two previously mentioned...
