SMS is an ancient and insecure protocol it shouldn't be implemented. There's no reason to try to encrypt SMS instead of using a better messaging solution like SImpleX itself.

Not sure what the point of that would be. You already have options like Signal if you want to have an encrypted chat with someone and verify by their phone...

Yeah I'm not happy with VLC. I think we should expect some baseline level of basic security when recommending third party apps, and here VLC doesn't offer an official flatpak...

Android 16 is going to be adding this permission so it looks like GrapheneOS won’t have to worry about adding it: https://developer.android.com/privacy-and-security/local-network-permission This issue can be closed now.

Maybe we should also split the PRs between adding LTeX and removing LanguageTool, no reason for one to hold up the other.

I’m just not really understanding why we are adding LTeX in the same PR, they should be separate, especially since it’s not approved on the forum and several team members...
