This just bit me this morning when attempting to build Anki.

For metadata at least I use my own server, but it's true that pulling the actual packages comes from the AUR itself. There's potential to allow a fallback.

If you've hit some corruption of the cloned git repos, it way be quickest just to delete that entire directory. They'll be pulled again automatically the next time you install/update...
