FWIW on my end it was a Pipewire issue, and changing `ao=` fixed it. I notice that OP is a Windows user, but switching the `ao=` setting might still help.

Had this problem with SkyUI, but I got it to work by making a SkyUI folder where MO2 stores mods, and then simply copy pasting the .esp and .bsa. MO2...

What do you mean with your first comment? You mean download Mupen64Plus standalone outside of RA and test it with that? Turned vsync in RA off, set framerate to fullspeed...

(Just tried the standalone, performance is rather awful in general there)
