Error "An error occurred during execution. Make sure you have write access rights to the VSCode files, see README"

Any idea on how to do this in Ubuntu? If I run `sudo code --user-data-dir="~/.vscode-root"` I open a VSC instance with no extensions installed. So this doesn't help at all....

How can one actually install the app globally ?

Same question. I just downloaded the Linux version, a zip file, extracted a bunch of files, and the executable doesn't even run.

CheckForUpdate is failing, Cant reach github message is showed
