Is there any progress towards resolution of this very annoying issue ?
🟢 [Build is passing](https://github.com/dregad/parsedown/actions/runs/12980164674) for all PHP versions now I'm not sure why the workflow is running on my fork and not here though, is that normal ?
@xabbuh you're absolutely right, I am well aware of that. BUT: 1. it's only changing the signature of a protected method, not a public interface, so impact to the outside...
@erusev could this please be merged, and a new version released ? Let me know if I can help.

Parsedown 1.7.5 with PHP 8.4/8.5 compatibility was released in the [parsedown/parsedown fork](https://github.com/parsedown/parsedown) (implementing this PR).
@atrol Is this something that you plan on including in 2.27.0, or are you saving it for a later version ?

It would be great indeed, but seems to be a long shot, considering that v3 compatibility is pending for years (#28)... 😉
