I am having the exact same issue on 10.9 as well.

@TTimo I downloaded your DMG and gave the included copy a try. I am still getting missing images, see the attached screenshot.

It only errored on the one icon though, not all of them. 

I personally think it would be foolish not to support the Mac platform as popular as it is, particularly in the United States

I gave @deanPGM 's workaround a try and it did not work for me. It seems like my joystick might not be perfectly centered though because everything is constantly trying...
