You can fairly easy do it yourself though, by hand or using something like `hydra`; e.g. use your `a` or `b` and then let-bound `(mu4e-bookmarks)` with the _second_ letter.

Is this common enough to warrant the extra complexity?

It's more of an accident that some URLs are "activated" in an HTML mail; we need to turn that off for such messages.

I'll consider it, but I'm reluctant to do so, since it makes future development much harder (having to consider third-party packages and whatever details they depend on).

Never used that option, but suspect that simply might be incompatible with what mu4e does. So perhaps for now I'd say "don't do that".

No need to be disappointed, you can help if you can give an analysis about what this option is expecting and what mu4e is doing; it seems it depends on...

It's nice that it compiles, and it may work for some people, but there are various problems https://github.com/djcb/mu/issues?q=is%3Aissue+label%3Amsys which I closed as WONTFIX. I don't want to mislead people that...
