Have you tried selecting a different directory? You'll have to grant vscode access to certain directories on your mac.

Do you have Smart Sync turned on? I wonder if your notes directory gets put in the cloud by Smart Sync and vscode isn't able to send the trigger for...

I believe this could be set up as a configuration option for the extension. I'll look into this.

I will look into this one. I may add it as a feature that can be enabled/disabled.
