I have the same problem with **Chromium 81.0.4044.138** but you can import the folder instead of the .crx via the chrome://extensions page.
@RossellaFer Downgrading might work but isn't a solution.
@contempoinc Had a similar problem. In my case I was invoking the script before the DOM elements where rendered.

Does it support all basic **markdown-it** features? Can we have [emoji](https://github.com/markdown-it/markdown-it-emoji) support?
