As long as there is good error reporting (for the case where there are sufficient shielded funds but they are not 10 blocks mature), I'm happy to pick an anchor...
@arielgabizon I don't think that in practice the better error reporting option would complicate the code significantly, or make it less efficient.
This issue is also going to affect Sapling Spends. Just to [reiterate](https://github.com/zcash/zcash/issues/1614#issuecomment-276261286) why this is important: it makes shielded spends unreliable because if the most recent block is orphaned, then...
