Not sure if this is relevant but it seems like CSI and CRAI indexes are much smaller than BAI so could be alternatives (jbrowse supports these in v1.15.0)

good idea. I think the "serverless.com" framework is multi cloud. It may be able to deploy to AWS or cloudflare more easily https://www.serverless.com/framework/docs/providers/cloudflare/guide/intro
