I ran into the exact same issue yesterday with quakespasm. Haven't run any other games before on hyprland, so I thought I would just need to conf it correctly, so...

I have the same problem, initially opened a dupe because I didn't find this before, I added dmesg DRM debug logs there but not sure if there's anything helpful (#8105)....

Didn't fix it unfortunately. I saw backtraces that didn't land in `lookupParentExists`, so I'm guessing the loop is happening further outside. I will gather more info when I have time.
