Just out of curiosity, what compiler are you using that gets these warnings? I regularly build with gcc-11, gcc-12, clang-14, clang-15, and clang-16 and am not seeing these

One way to do it would be to have a whitelist setting that enumerates the directories whose subtrees are allowed to be browsed.
