This may be ready, but I think @amotin 's comments need a response at the very least.
I think at the least, we should remove the assert since we have code to handle when it fails and we usually do one or the other.
my automation messed up, so I couldn't push this to close it as merged.
Does APE define an ABI? Or does the binary have to be compiled specifically for FreeBSD? Or do details like that live in the printf ELF header?
Given that this is a non-standard image format, I wonder if there's a case to be made to make it optional? Maybe options IMGACT_APE? in opt_imgact.h?
We need this to have a proper option. Plus it looks like some of @brooksdavis 's concerns aren't address yet and they need to be answered.
