I also realized this won’t work anymore with multitsdb, we way want to implement that right away as I think the strategy might be a bit different.
I think we’ll one day get there, but we’re still gathering operational experience for the various components and are trying to trade off what makes sense implementing in Thanos itself...
My current thought: prometheus rules in yaml, dashboards in json and everything else defaults to yaml. I'm not entirely happy with not streamlining though, so I'll keep thinking about it.
No it’s not about kube Prometheus at all, it’s about monitoring mixins.
