Do you get maximum speed when connecting ap to ap as normal client? Like then wds is an option.

Ok, you get maximum in this case, undoing will dramatically rise input/output chain cpu usage... no overlap with forward/offload in particular test. Can you try nginx with auto workers auto...
Try to add cpu detail like usermode/irq/softirq split CPU usage
It is option "detailed cpu time (...)" after htop f2-setup
