Thats, in theory, not possible, your internal URL is not used based on GPS, it's based on what you defined as home network (wifi name aka SSID).
If you also have an external URL then it should work, because the App will default to it when internal can't be used.

@robchandhok I couldn't find something relevant yet, for now let's try something. iOS Settings > Apps > Safari > Advanced > Website data > Clear all website data > Reboot...
I'm trying to reproduce but it didn't happen yet, yesterday I tried as well in another iPad but unfortunately it didn't happen either. 
Can each one experiencing this reply back with iPad model, iPadOS version, and App version?
