This is now fixed thanks to the work of @Hypfer in #358. I have released Adaptive Lighting https://github.com/basnijholt/adaptive-lighting/releases/tag/1.2.0 which includes the change 😄
Who's excited?! See https://github.com/basnijholt/adaptive-lighting/pull/329
I have just released [1.1.0](https://github.com/basnijholt/adaptive-lighting/releases/tag/1.1.0) where you can set the sleep color using RGB. This issue can finally be closed! :tada:
Closed by #350 thanks to @danaues :tada:
I have added a test where I can reproduce the problem in https://github.com/basnijholt/adaptive-lighting/pull/321. I hope to find a solution soon.
I fixed the problem in PR #321. I will release 1.0.17 in a few minutes :tada:

That's correct. I fixed the problem in PR https://github.com/basnijholt/adaptive-lighting/pull/321. Please update :-)
I think that Zigbee groups are never going to work reliably with adaptive lighting. I would recommend using Home Assistant light groups, these are properly expand it into separate lights.
@bartlebi, do you mean they flicker or turn on automatically? The problem is just much more likely to occur with Zigbee groups than Home Assistant groups. I will write down...
