Did you install Java8? I believe this error means that there is only Java11 on your machine.

For me, the workaround with the "Apply" button did not resolve the issue, but when I included the file as "User template file" instead of "Local file" it was loaded...
Which Java version are you using? You can use `sudo update-alternatives --config java` to switch to java 8 which is necessary to run Vega.
Did you take a look at the log file? What does it say?
