@ruler501 did you figure what was happening? I am having this problem and at times the editor is completely unusable and using 100% CPU with a python process.

Just discovered and using it, specially happy because seems to be the only gmusic player that supports creating random radio stations out of songs. I discovered as many others here...

there's a bios update from lenovo (1.46) that allegedly fixes this issue. I installed the update but could not get any performance improvement the link to to the lenovo bios...

@faustusdotbe I've been using the firmware for a while without problems with the fans. I can't say it fixed the throttling issues though.

I am having just this issue with the 1165G7 in a lenovo thinkpad. similar to what @dcplaut mentioned, if I run the [static fix](https://github.com/erpalma/throttled#static-fix) it "releases" the power, but quickly...
