Question for YOU: How are you discovering gpymusic?
I'm curious how people are actually arriving at this repo. GitHub tells me that many are coming from the Reddit posts in /r/unixporn and /r/googleplaymusic, please confirm or tell me otherwise 🙂.
There's been an influx in stars the past week or so which is mostly what raises this question for me.
I was googling specifically for google play music all access terminal apps. I hit this reddit thread, which linked to gmusicapi, which links here.
So in my case at least, it's not from anything recent. But /r/unixporn has probably been pushing me this direction . Nice project!
I just googled 'google play music command line', found the r/unixporn thread on gpmcli, and here I am!
I was searching r/unixporn and google for anything related to i3 and google music. Everything else I found on github was no longer supported, so I settled on gpymusic
Found on /r/UnixPorn after looking for a command line player for Google Music.
Normally I'd be offended by "settled", but early 2017 me wrote some spaghetti code 😄.
Yep Reddit, /r/UnixPorn
I found it while trying to build my own similar app using gmusiapi, then finding this and giving up on mine 😋
through github topics 'music-player'
/r/unixporn :p

found searching specifically for google music CLI app, but did so through r/unixporn
Just discovered and using it, specially happy because seems to be the only gmusic player that supports creating random radio stations out of songs.
I discovered as many others here I was looking for a terminal music player and found it on /r/unixporn
You should check out tuijam (by the person who added the radio feature to this program), it also has radio and is actively maintained . Highly recommend!
@christopher-dG sadly I could not make it work on mac, I'll try to contact the author and see if I can help to make it run.
