It does the CRC32 check. If it's modified, engine will use modded gfx.wad, if not, it will replace fonts from extras.pk3.

Honestly, I wish we've already used custom font renderer from mainui_cpp. The only thing I need to do is rewrite it in C. It's not too hard, but every time...

What's the value of `vid_highdpi` cvar and what if you try to invert it? Seems like an engine bug to me.

In fact, we shouldn't care about window scaling factor at all. We always need to draw in real pixels, instead of what operating system and compositor tries to impose on...
