+1 for this being a super awesome feature that we can use as well. Hopefully its merged in soon for a release

I have the exact same issue, and generally always have with Files. Incredibly long initial freeze on any launch.

My recycle bin only had a few gb of files in it, but disconnecting my network drive mapping seems to have fixed it...

I ended up with a few other things in the recycle bin and it lagged like hell starting up until I removed.
