Added a multi-retry mechanism since, until all sensors are back.
Seems like a pretty severe render glitch. This doesn't happen AFAIK on all systems, since I never seen that behavior on mine, and nobody reported a similar issue so far....

 This is coming. Should help a few folks.
There is really only 8 bits, so 256 possible steps. That's why.
Access denied means it wasn't running as admin somehow.
Have you tried manually executing the updater.exe ?
@nefariouslegion That's odd, the "built-in" one is actually just FanControl calling updater.exe. It's like your FanControl instance didn't have the right user privileges to run it or something.
Maybe take a look at the scheduled task that starts FanControl, and see if something is wrong as far as user/admin etc..
