dmenu has a patch to hide password

Oh, my bad. I thought op was asking for an option to add hide password option. Didn't know it already came with it. All good

Maybe not exactly the solution but I think its better to use [startify](https://github.com/mhinz/vim-startify) or [Auto-session](https://github.com/rmagatti/auto-session) to manage sessions in vim/neovim. There's also the [dashboard](https://github.com/glepnir/dashboard-nvim) plugin that I haven't tested out...
