That would indeed flush everything to disk, but starting a demo causes an extremely disruptive hitch while it requests a full update from the server.

Just a note, this will make all fonts blurry unless i switch to a different font.

This is probably more important now that Valve added the match-in-progress cooldown: prioritize any players who joined the server in the last 5 minutes (sv_vote_late_join_cooldown).

Regarding windows notifications, Windows 10 (and 8?) "priority" notifications can show on top of "exclusive" fullscreen applications as long as "Disable fullscreen optimizations" is disabled  

These options are going to be saved in an upcoming version. I didn't save them because I wanted people to not accidently leave the chat messages off, but didn't anticipate...
