FWIW, I had to restart Obsidian to get it to work on my Mac when I first installed this plugin.

I should have mentioned that I have the "commit and push submodules" switch disabled.

I manually commit and push my submodules; I would like the ability to _manually_ update the submodule commit the parent repo points to.
