What do you mean by "cannot click on anything", can you add a video showing the problem?
Do you have evidence that the values being provided to your extension are lowercased as well? I tried to reproduce both in unit tests (wasn't happening there) and manually testing...
Did you change the config while Lens was running? What sort of change did you make?
