Now tested on kwin using both x11 and wayland.

Unless someone like @rdb happens to suspect something based on the traceback, there is not much we can do without a repro case.

@BMaxV was @wezu's demo sufficient for your use case? If so, we should add a Manual page on drag and drop with DirectGUI based on the demo.

Sounds like we could also use some doc improvements and some samples.

Other than JSON not being suited for reading/writing by humans, I agree with @ArsThaumaturgis . Maybe the answer to this is to just come up with a format and see...

What I mean by taking it to the community is to just build something and see what sticks. This is how we got glTF and PBR "support" for Panda.

Should this target the 1.10 branch?

@rdb What can we do to move this along? Are there some tests you would like to see?
