The effect is intentional there is no issue here.

Appears to be fine on current master the file names correctly.

The text has never worked outside of software or native resolution and the game looks the same as it has for me.

Game works fine now bar a brief black half screen flicker on the left side in the dump provided.

This is an upscaling issue it does not happen at native in hardware.
