Sorry this is bit off topic, but can session be also "figured out" from JSON token? For API and such
I'm not really sure how this could be a GUI issue. Its really hard to pinpoint the issue, specially when you don't even mention the router you are using.
Not sure but I think this is limitation set by Firmware it self so I might not be able to do anything about it. I will give it a look...

Strange, I was not able to re-produce this issue. I tried on both routers Asus RT-N66U and R7000. Both worked fine redirecting to port 8888 (non standard http port)
