I would recommend you use https://github.com/spree-contrib/spree_store_credit_payment_method which is being merged with core. This extension is pretty much dead, and doesn't even have a 2.3 branch let alone 2.4.

I think this project was merged into spree_gateway you should try using skrill that way.

What is the error message & backtrace? This sounds like another Spring error... not an error with that code. You could try removing spring from your application to fix dev...
