We use the PHP base image, so this is kind of a duplicate of https://github.com/docker-library/php/issues/94

IMHO this should be addressed in the php/httpd base image. This affects all images based on php and some solutions have already been discussed there.

`doveadm` is in dovecot: https://pkgs.alpinelinux.org/contents?file=doveadm&path=&name=&branch=edge&repo=&arch= Adding `dovecot*` to the image just for more password hashes sounds a bit overkill, isn't it? Are those hashes widely used?

If you export all secret values as env, they would also shou up in the containers definition etc. again in cleartext.
