Duplicate of https://github.com/matomo-org/docker/issues/248 and https://github.com/matomo-org/matomo/issues/19151. Unfortunately Matomo does not provide a cli to update the application. Just replacing the files may result in a broken database schema.
https://github.com/matomo-org/docker/issues/248#issuecomment-903618139 is the only supported update mechanism by Matomo.

The password is not set on purpose in the example. You must generate a local secret. IMHO `MYSQL_RANDOM_ROOT_PASSWORD` is a bad default, it may leave you in trouble if you...
[generate-stackbrew-library.sh](https://github.com/nextcloud/docker/blob/master/generate-stackbrew-library.sh) needs an update too to include it in the [library file](https://github.com/docker-library/official-images/blob/master/library/nextcloud). Once this is done, a test similar to [nextcloud-apache-run](https://github.com/docker-library/official-images/tree/master/test/tests/nextcloud-apache-run) can be added.
Thanks for keeping this up to date. I just haven't merged it yet because I'm also following the progress in https://github.com/docker-library/wordpress/pull/875.
