This bug is not specific to vitasdk elfs. Can be verified with bgapputil.suprx.
I have psvsd as ux0 too and snapshots save without any issues. Make sure you have ioPlus installed.

Does it break right after you take the snapshot or only aftet you restart the game? Also check if you are using 1.4 version.
Please check if you are using 1.4 version.
You can use Backup From List feature to imitate that.
