I had the same behavior (or very similar), I believe after FanControl **v230**: sitting at my PC desk after idle times, just to find **both** HWiNFO and FanControl not running....
@Ralf1774 I still see the issue happening from time to time. I have noticed somehow matching timing in Win Event viewer with "PCConnectService.exe" Application Hang, however I am not sure...
