FanControl closing itself randomly
There's nothing in the EvenViewer. I turned my PC on at 6pm, now it's 9pm and there's nothing reported there since 6pm when the PC was turned on. FanControls log.txt latest entry is from May 5.
Sometimes randomly Fan Control closes itself, like the icon is still there on the taskbar(but the program is not running), but when I hover over it, it vanishes. This issue started this August, had no issues for years. It was fine yesterday and today morning, totally random.
I'm using the v231, but it even stated doing it with my old OS drive back from 2022 that was fine for years with v176.
Ryzen 7 7700 Asus TUF B850-Plus RTX 5070 Ti Win 10 Pro 22H2(19045.6332)
Could Hwinfo mess around? That's what I updated recently for the 5070Ti support.
I had the same behavior (or very similar), I believe after FanControl v230: sitting at my PC desk after idle times, just to find both HWiNFO and FanControl not running. It was rare, but it surely happened several times.
The issue apparently disappeared after installing Nvidia drivers v581.15. I cannot be sure it is actually solved because it might take some time to actually reproduce.
Worth noting I have the HWiNFO plugin installed.
EDIT: it happened again just now, specs / version at the moment of the "crash":
- Win 11 Enterprise 23H2 22631.5909
- FanControl 239 (net 8_0)
- HWiNFO v8.30-5800
- Nvidia drivers v581.15
- Intel i9-13900k, ASUS ROG MAX. Z690 EXTR., RTX 4080
=> FanControl log is empty => Might be related to the HWiNFO plugin which is in use => Still didn't happen with FanControl 240, since it got released few minutes ago => Didn't find anything apparently interesting in Windows events log, could investigate more for something specific, if properly instructed
@Ralf1774 I still see the issue happening from time to time.
I have noticed somehow matching timing in Win Event viewer with "PCConnectService.exe" Application Hang, however I am not sure it is connected.
Do you happen to have Oppo's Multi-Screen Connect or O+ Connect installed on your computer?

I dont know what those even are, so no I dont.
Anyway, I bought Argus Monitor a month ago and did a fresh Win11 install(i had Win10 before) and it just works.

Did you install HWinfo as well?
