Just curious: what's the current status of this RFC and why couldn't we at least follow the system fontconfig fallback fonts by default? Doing that alone doesn't sound like interfering...

@kchibisov Thanks! I tried that already. Looks like the best way now is to patch my primary font with symbols. Because the primary font already "shadows" the PowerlineSymbol font.

I tried that. It works with Inconsolata, but not with Fantasque Sans Mono. I also tried to modify the conf to support the latter. But it didn't work. Maybe Fantasque...

+1 for this feature, which is quite common in modern IDEs.

Same problem on Archlinux.
