Bubble (popover) under the snippet is problematic: how much vertical space to reserve for that? Better go the other way with a standard div.
Reading slightly outdated snippets offline is very fine. Contributing contents offline (e.g. creating or editing an impl) is not that relevant and would introduce a lot of unwanted complexity, so...
The "Copy snippet to the clipboard" button already exists in the Idiom detail page. Something similar shall be fine.
This feature would be very nice to have.
