jq should handle newline-delimited JSON fine. Are you talking about Yarn 1.x or 4.x? This repo is for 1.x, which is frozen and not getting updates.
On Debian, you can install a newer kernel from backports. Currently, kernel `6.12.32` is available in `bookwork-backports`. It should also work fine if you run it directly on the system...

Released v17.0.0 which resolves this issue. v1.0.0 didn't feel right given jscodeshift has been around for nine years.
