Was there already a two piece design (@rbaron), with an interchangeable probe like @Judman suggested? If yes why was it changed? It seems the easiest solution and also cheap.

Is there any progress on this topic? Have the same water meter and would like to capture the data and import it to may Home Assistant.

There is already Lily58 version available what you want, except the onboard controller. It’s called Lily58L
