What mod/method are you using for gamepad support with MC?
I'll try to look into the issue, but can you clarify which version of MC and the mod you were running? Your issue title states 1.20.1, but the mod version...
I've made a fix for this issue (https://github.com/LEAWIND/Third-Person/pull/88), but it seems like the developer has been pretty inactive with this project lately. You can find the jar files [here](https://github.com/ArctynFox/Third-Person/releases/tag/v2.0.8-beta.5-mc1.20.4).
I tested on 2.8.9, albeit on a different device as it wouldn't let me downgrade without uninstalling which I can't be bothered to do at the moment, and the issue...
