They may need to update the note types on their end via the AnKing Note Types add-on. Or it could be a closet addon that needs updating

TTS isn't controlled from the addon. If this is happening when there is formatting in the cloze, then it probably needs to be fixed on the Ankidroid side

@abdnh could look into this to see if there is a reasonable fix?

This would be incredibly complex to do. Great idea though! Probably won't be able to get to it in the near future but I'll leave it on here
