@arachsys Is there a reason to not make a PR?

It would be nice to maintain as few patches as possible, but maybe @busterb can kindly explain the reasoning behind the commit? Maybe there is something I don't realize?

@ChromiusMixin Do you have a save (Not savestate) that can be used to reproduce this? Or is this otherwise possible to reproduce without a save?

Can someone please fix or otherwise help work around this issue? It makes it hard to provide libretro-2048 for distros without breaking saves. :( `[2048] unable to save game data:...

Now it has decided to use the save directory intended for GLupeN64 instead... I guess its confused by `Sort Saves In Folders`

That PR has a lot of conflicts making it harder to test, but thanks for pointing it out!
