I see. So you want to keep using standard input/output. I guess it's possible but not easy. You can make a Pipe object and replace file descriptors of standard input/output...

any plans to update to newer version of Open3D?

I have no plan to update. It is definitely possible, but you should expect many trial and errors. Also some features are desktop or Intel only.
