any plans to update to newer version of Open3D?

Are there any plans to update this to a newer version (0.16)? I would love to contribute but was wondering if anyone has any experience trying. (I don't want to try things that are not possible)

I have no plan to update.

It is definitely possible, but you should expect many trial and errors. Also some features are desktop or Intel only.
